Great bit of excitement in Shannonbridge at lunchtime yesterday as police gave chase to four people in a car at high speed starting from Birr and passing through Shannonbridge and crossing the bridge . At Clonfad church the four turned right and ran into a police car which was blocking the road at Dermot Glennon Haulage. They tried to escape into Drumalga Wood but two were apprehended at once and the other two later. The police helicopter was in action. There were two men and two women involved.Tried to pick up more information on the midnight news but by then we were wiped off the map.
