Our Lady of Clonfert Church as normal have a full calendar of events for each day for the month of May. Ann Keena was telling us that she was over there on Tuesday evening and that there was a large crowd.
In the Parish Hall on the other side of the road there are teas and sandwiches available for those that may require something to eat.
People usually visit three times at least in the month.
I was surprised a few years ago when I called in during the day and found about twenty people in the church, praying, lighting candles and doing the Stations of The Cross. The church houses the Statue of Our Lady that was carved around the twelfth century and hidden in a hole in a tree for safety during the Cromwellian times.

My thands to Bridie Carry for two of the postings below.
