Jesus
Read at least the first two lines....Ever thought of it?
Jesus died over 2000 years ago.
Nobody has ever referred to HIM as the ‘late Jesus’,
Not even the heathens.
Nowhere in history.
Nowhere has HE ever been referred to in the past tense
HE 'is' the Living God!
When Jesus died on the cross HE was thinking of you!
Ten Commandments of Home Rule
1. If you sleep on it - make it up.
2. If you wear it - hang it up.
3. If you drop it - pick it up.
4. If you eat out of it - put it in the sink.
5. If you step on it - wipe it off.
6. If you open it - close it.
7. If you empty it - fill it up.
8. If it rings - answer it.
9. If it howls - feed it.
10. If it cries - love it.                            (The Fight, J. White, IVP, pp. 121ff)

Christmas Message 2013  -from Bishop Francis Duffy
St Luke wrote “As for Mary, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart” (Lk 2: 19 . .  Sometimes our treasure is gone: bereavement can leave us feeling empty.  The absence of family members who are abroad can leave our Christmas celebration incomplete.   Many people think about Jesus in Bethlehem and wonder what this tells us about God and about being human?  It has to do with the treasure that God is to us, the treasure that we are to God and the treasure that we can be to each other.  I hope that the message of Christmas will us bring peace and joy and help us treasure what is important.  Happy Christmas to all.

Discover One’s Mission                                                (Rev Martin Luther King jr)
"Every person must have a concern for self, and feel a responsibility to discover one’s mission in life. God has given each normal person a capacity to achieve some end. True, some are endowed with more talent than others, but God has left none of us without talent. Potential powers of creativity are within us, and we have a duty to work assiduously to discover these powers."

ADVENT
How should we prepare for Christmas? Before we answer that question we should determine to which Christmas we are referring: the “commercial” Christmas or the “spiritual” Christmas. To many people Christmas no longer means, “The birthday of the baby Jesus.” Christmas to them only means shopping, gifts, travel, the family coming home, the big meal and so on. To prepare for that Christmas people spend hours upon hours shopping, planning, sending cards and attending parties.
The “coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” is what we should really prepare for. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is fine. The gifts, the shopping, the family gatherings are wonderful. But that’s the “commercial” Christmas. Today, as we begin Advent, let all of us consider the question, “How am I going to prepare for the “spiritual” Christmas ... the birthday of Jesus Christ?”                                                                  (Friedl & Macauley
