Temperance Sunday (Feb 26th) , coming as it does, on the threshold of Lent, invites us to take a different approach. It invites us to enjoy a life free of the scourges of alcohol and drug abuse. Over the years thousands of people have accepted that invitation, have taken on that challenge, and as a consequence, have enjoyed life to the full. That opportunity is open to all.
Pioneer Lenten Challenge! Many people abstain from alcohol and take the Short-Term Pledge for the duration of Lent. Make your Lenten pledge by visiting www.pioneerassociation.ie and joining online or by contacting your local Pioneer centre representative.
Take this opportunity to help someone you know/love with an alcohol or drug problem by offering up your Lenten sacrifice as a prayer for their freedom and well-being. Go for it and make a difference to someone’s life!
BAPTISM MEETING The next meeting for parents in our pastoral area who have a child for Baptism will be held in the Parochial House, Ballinahowen on Thursday March 15th from 8-9p.m.
STATION MASSES: The tradition of hosting Mass in the home is a beautiful part of our faith tradition. If you would like to help continue this– I’d love to hear from you. Remember simplicity is best. No need for fuss, just a cup of tea.
