The front page of today’s Irish Times tells of a historic find by a farmer in South Offaly.

An ancient Irish manuscript or Book of Psalms estimated to be 1000 to 1200 years old was described by of The National Museum as being an Irish equivalent to that of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It appears to be an Irish early Christian Psalter, written on vellum.

It is in large format and there is a picture of some of the writing. The Irish Times website is www.ireland.com
