Tuesday 11th Dec and the old river level is now reading 4.4 metres at the bridge.

Weather is that little bit colder today but not bad for near mid December. Thinking that in about ten days time the old winter sunrise will hopefully be lighting up the passage and chamber at Newgrange. If you have not visited Newgrange then try and include it on your do list for next year.

Christy Hennessy the singer songwriter from Kerry has passed away. Now that he is dead everyone knows more about him. Some 35 years ago he worked with asbestos and it is slow to develop the cancer that goes with it but it did. People on the radio told us that Christy composed over 200 songs including “Don’t forget your shovel if you want to go to work” Hennessy was not able to read or write but he got by. Say a prayer for his soul.

News of the death of Kathleen Brennan, Cornafulla, the woman behind the Apple Tart factory that has been so successful. May she rest in peace.

There is a Christmas Craft Fair taking place in The Mill at Belmont on Sat / Sun 15 / 16th Dec. It runs until 6.00 pm each evening and call 086-6078925 for further information.

Somebody dropped me in a parcel of items that I had left in Ferbane Power Station. Included were a tin whistle that was never mastered and a number of old photographs.

Some of the photographs were taken by Dave Feeley the fisherman from England showing fish catches of himself and also Philip and Gerard Casey at the Hot Water outlet.

Old black and whites showing the brother Jim as a young boy and sister Pat. Nice photo of a donkey and cart in our yard with my mother and a Mary Foley the cousin.
