50th I. Eucharistic Congress : ‘Communion with Christ & one another.’
Our 4 Cluster Parishes are organising a period of 40 hours of continuous Eucharistic adoration on a ‘relay’ basis in the 10 Churches of the pastoral area, with 4 hours of adoration in each church on 24th & 25th May, starting with Mass in each church.  In this parish it will be on 25th May in Clonfanlough @ 8am & in Shannonbridge @ 12noon.  We need volunteers to come for any length of time to ensure there is always someone present.

“The Eucharist is a priceless treasure: by not only celebrating it, but also by praying before it outside of Mass we are enabled to make contact with the very wellspring of grace.  A Christian community desirous of contemplating the face of Christ..... cannot fail to develop this aspect of Eucharistic worship, which prolongs and increases the fruits of our communion in the Body & Blood of the Lord.”                                                     (Pope John Paul 2)

Questions people ask (Fr O’Flynn – Intercom)

Q. What did Jesus mean when he said ‘you are pruned already’?

A. The vine, like many other fruit-bearing plants, receives two prunings. At the early pruning a certain number of shoots are selected for development while the remainder are lopped off. Close to harvest time, the second pruning cuts off the underdeveloped fruits to the benefit of the stronger ones. The disciples had survived the first pruning at the end of John Chapter 6 when they chose to remain with Jesus unlike those who walked away because they rejected his promise to give his flesh to eat and his blood to drink, the promise of the Eucharist
