A.. An Introduction to Theology.     B.  Introduction to Philosophy
These courses are short 12 week programmes which will provide an interesting and insightful view into the areas of Theology and Philosophy, and are very suitable for those wishing to develop a deeper sense of their own spirituality, and helpful to persons already involved pastoral areas of parish life.
It is hoped that if there is a sufficient uptake and interest in those introductory courses to work towards developing and delivering a degree in Theology at Athlone IT.

Shannonbridge GAA Club Notes

Intermediate Football Championship.

Shannonbridge secured their third win on Saturday, overcoming Erin Rovers on a score line of 0-11 to 0-6 and qualifying for the championship quarter finals.  Shannonbridge led by 0-4 to 0-3 at the break, with the scores from Eddie Egan, Michael Corbett (2) and Paul Deeley.  Playing well, Shannonbridge opened the second half with four unanswered points through Deeley (3) and Kieran Flannery before the Pollagh side scored two in a row in the thirteenth minute.  Points from Peadar Kelly, Philip Egan, a great score from the corner and Niall Price completed the scoring.  Shannonbridge lost defender Christian Brazil through injury late in the game.  This was a good team effort and we are now looking forward to the rest of the championship.

Team: Donal Corbett, C. Brazil, S. Flannery, M. Darcy, P. Maloney, Darragh Corbett, P. Kelly (0-1), T. Mahon, J. Ryan, P. Egan (0-1), S. Flannery (0-1), N. Price (0-1), P. Deeley (0-4), E. Egan (0-1), M. Corbett (0-2).
Subs: J. Egan, C. Killeen, C. Kenny, A. Kelly.

Best Wishes.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from all in Shannonbridge GAA Club to one of our best young players, Christian Brazil, who suffered a serious leg injury in Saturday’s game.

Life before the Computer
MEMORY was something you lost with age.
An APPLICATION was for employment.
A PROGRAMME was a TV show.
A CURSOR used blasphemy.
A KEYBOARD            was a piano.
A WEB            was a spider’s home.
A VIRUS was the flu.
A CD was a bank account.
A HARD DRIVE was a long trip on the road.
A MOUSE PAD was where a mouse lived.
A MONITOR was a school prefect or young teacher.
And if you had a 31/2 inch floppy, you just hoped nobody found out!
