Intermediate Football Championship.
Shannonbridge
secured their third win on Saturday, overcoming Erin Rovers on a score line of
0-11 to 0-6 and qualifying for the championship quarter finals. Shannonbridge led by 0-4 to 0-3 at the break,
with the scores from Eddie Egan, Michael Corbett (2) and Paul Deeley. Playing well, Shannonbridge opened the second
half with four unanswered points through Deeley (3) and Kieran Flannery before
the Pollagh side scored two in a row in the thirteenth minute. Points from Peadar Kelly, Philip Egan, a
great score from the corner and Niall Price completed the scoring. Shannonbridge lost defender Christian Brazil
through injury late in the game. This
was a good team effort and we are now looking forward to the rest of the
championship.
