SFL DIV 1

Shannonbridge 3-15
Doon 0-8

Shannonbridge recorded a very impressive win over near neighbors and rivals Doon in Tubber under lights on Wednesday night last.

The Bridge opened their account with a spectacular point from Jason Kelly and this was shortly followed by a fine goal from former Westmeath Footballer Richie Browne.

Doon did however respond with points from James Coughlan, but Shannonbridge never let looked like letting their lead slip and Darren Finn stormed up from wing back to add another point for the bridge Men to leave them well in control at the interval.

In the Past, the Shannonsiders would have taken their foot off the peddle but not on this occasion, they showed great discipline and determination and went on to finish the Job in a very ruthless Manner, taking score upon score to leave the blues in a daze.

Goals from David Corbett, Shane Flannery and a brace of points from an inform Anthony Kelly polished off a fine performance on the night.

Complements to Tubber for the fantastic lighting facilities, this is the way forward in the GAA to alleviate fixture congestion and also gives Players a chance to enjoy the odd weekend off.
