Shannonbridge Fishing Report dated
The river level at Shannonbridge is 2.25 Metres after a five week dry spell. The promised forecast rain started today. Anglers may wish to know that the Corncrake bird has returned from
- Sean Keneghan from Tullamore fishing from the jetty using dead roach caught 9 pike to 6 lbs. Later in the day he caught 5 pike to 7.25 lbs when fishing on the River Suck.
- Dave Kemp from
- Joe Coleman from Duleek used dead roach as bait on the River Shannon to catch 11 pike up to 9 lbs best.
- Neville Hayes and Chris Butler from Drumalga fished the Hot Water using worm and maggot with float and leger to catch 20 fish. Bream to 2 lbs and roach to 0.5 lbs.
- Ralph Edwards and his son Robert from Wexford fished on the River Shannon downstream of Clonmacnois and used a strike pro lure to catch 7 pike. The best weighed 13 lbs and was caught by 13 year old Robert.
- Christopher Lantry from Clonmacnois fished from the jetty at Clonmacnois and using a worm he caught a 2 lbs perch.
- B Peels from Zostere NL used a dead roach when fishing near the mouth of the River Suck to catch a pike 1.05 Metres that weighed 22 lbs. Returned alive.
- Jan Peels from Zostere using a dead roach caught a pike 86 Cm from the same location.

- Jim King from Clonburren fished the Clonburren Back River and used spinner lures to catch 9 pike between 4 lb and 10 lbs.
- Harry and Steve Johnson from the Yorkshire Dales fished the Hot Water and using sweetcorn they caught 4 tench with the largest weighing 5 lbs. Strong fighters.
- Local youngsters Shane O Rourke and Alan Scott fished the Hot Water using maggots and dead bait. They caught 35 roach and a pike that weighed 10 lbs.

- Local angler Dermot Turley fished the River Shannon at Woodbank and using a copper / silver spoon he caught 11 pike and 3 perch.

- Many coarse anglers are finding it hard to catch fish. The fish must be finding it hard to catch anglers as they change their position every day and often twice a day.
