The Bishop will lead the celebration on Sun 9th Sep, which is the actual feast of St CiarĂ¡n, beginning @ 3pm.
The visiting speaker will be Fr John Cullen.
"All those who wish to walk the ancient pilgrim way from Ballinahown to Clonmacnois assemble at Ballinahown car park @ 11am. After Mass visitors will be welcome to enjoy musical entertainment & light refreshments in Ballinahown Hall."
(We ourselves hope to provide a cup of tea for those unable to go Ballinahown).
"There will also be an all night Prayer Vigil for young people aged 17 to 25 years, 8.30pm - 5pm. Contact Fr Patsy on 087-6505882."

KOLKATA, August 24, 2007 (CISA) - As part of celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Blessed Mother Teresa on September 5, Catholics in the Archdiocese of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) have begun praying that she may become a saint.

Celebrations began with a Triduum and novena on Thursday, leading up to September 5, and will continue till September 23. The Blessed Teresa s birthday on August 26 will also be celebrated.

The Catholic Association of Bengal (CAB), the largest lay Catholic organisation in the Archdiocese of Kolkata, has decided to make the year 2007 the Year for the Canonisation of Mother Teresa.

More than three years have passed since the title of Blessed was conferred on our beloved Mother Teresa. During her life, Mother was a living saint to many. There is no doubt that she is already a saint to many more around the world.
