Shannonbridge GAA Club Notes.
Intermediate Football Championship.
Shannonbridge
qualified for the quarter finals with a two point win over Clonbullogue, in
Durrow, on Sunday. A diagonal
cross-field breeze made conditions difficult, resulting in a low scoring game,
with a large number of wides on both sides.
Clonbullogue, playing with the breeze, established a half time lead of
0-3 to 0-1. After the break,
Shannonbridge levelled the game with points from Michael Corbett and Kieran
Flannery before taking the lead with a Flannery free after Karol Kelly was
fouled. Two more points from Paul Deeley
and Flannery were enough to see off some sustained Clonbullogue pressure as
they came in search of a winning goal in the last few minutes. Final score Shannonbridge 0-6; Clonbullogue
0-4.
