Intermediate Football Championship.
Shannonbridge
got their championship campaign off to a great start with a four point win over
Bracknagh, at Clara, on Saturday.
Conditions were difficult with a strong wind blowing directly across the
field. In a game that was competitive
all through, Shannonbridge led at the break by 0-6 to 0-5. In the second half Shannonbridge outscored
Bracknagh, whose cause wasn’t helped by having two players black carded towards
the end of the game, by seven points to four to take the win on a score of 0-13
to 0-9. This was a fine team performance
where all starting fifteen and subs played their part.
Team:
Donal Corbett (0-1, 45), S. Flannery, T. Mahon, M. Darcy, P. Maloney, N. Price,
P. Kelly, J. Egan, K. Flannery, P. Deeley
(0-9), P. Egan (0-1), C. Brazil (0-1), Darragh Corbett, E. Egan (Capt.)
(0-1), A. Kelly. Subs: R. McEvoy, M.
Corbett, J. Deeley.
