The Department of Lifelong Learning at the Athlone IT are delighted to offer two new  part time courses which include modules relating to religious and modern spiritual themes.
A.. An Introduction to Theology.     B.  Introduction to Philosophy
These courses are short 12 week programmes which will provide an interesting and insightful view into the areas of Theology and Philosophy, and are very suitable for those wishing to develop a deeper sense of their own spirituality, and helpful to persons already involved pastoral areas of parish life.
It is hoped that if there is a sufficient uptake and interest in those introductory courses to work towards developing and delivering a degree in Theology at Athlone IT.
Registration evening on Wednesday 10th September from 5.30 pm – 8.30 pm, so join us and speak to the staff delivering the programmes and remember “Your Future Starts Here …”

The Sublime Round Tower: An Iconic Call To Contemplative Prayer
By Sr. Kathleen Lynch FMDM

This book is a little treasure of practical spirituality. Drawing from the wisdom of the Desert, the Celtic tradition and from contemporary contemplative guides, Sr. Kathleen presents a Gospel vision that goes to the core of our Christian discipleship.

Using the symbol of the tower she traces how we can experience even now the unfolding of the divine energy of the resurrection in our daily living.

Walking the path of light marked out here will unwrap the heart to grace, unshackle the soul and transform lives.

Francis Cotter, OFM, author of The Coming of the Friars Minor to Ireland, and Glimpses of the Franciscan Way.
