Why did Christianity
arise, and why did it take the shape it did? The early Christians themselves
reply: We exist because of Jesus' resurrection. … There is no evidence for a
form of early Christianity in which the resurrection was not a central belief.

Questions people ask (Fr O’Flynn – Intercom)
Q. In what way was the raising of Jesus different from the raising of Lazarus or the widow’s son at Nain?
A. It’s the difference between resuscitation and Resurrection. Lazarus was resuscitated, meaning that he was brought back into the same level of life and he had to die again at a later date. Resurrection is not coming back into former life but going forward into a new and greater life. An entirely new level of life was revealed in the Resurrection of Jesus. As St Paul wrote, all our believing is based on the Resurrection of Jesus.

“Here is the amazing thing about Easter; the Resurrection Sunday for
Christians is this, that Christ in the dying moments on the cross gives us the
greatest illustration of forgiveness possible.
If you learn how to forgive others for not
being strong, then people can learn how to forgive you for your own issues.” T. D. Jakes
‘Many thanks to all who supported ‘Daffodil
Day’, which realised €750.00, and to
Killeens for hosting the event.’
