May Altar in honour of Our Lady.  This long-standing tradition is perpetuated in our schools.  Let’s hope it is also a feature of the homes of the parish during the month of May.  The basic requirements are simple - a small table or ledge, a white cloth, a statue or image of Mary and some wild flowers or flowers from the garden.  The altar can serve as a focal point for family prayer during Mary’s month.

Baptism.  Peadar Jack Quirke,
son of Gerard and Lucy (McLoughlin) Quirke, Shannonbridge,
