The second Sunday of Easter- is designated Divine Mercy Sunday. St. John Paul 11 said ‘It is the Sunday of thanksgiving for all the goodness God has shown us in the whole Easter Mystery’ The Feast was extended to the Catholic Church by him on April 30, 2000, the day that he canonized a young Polish nun Saint Maria Faustina. Her message is a reminder of what the Church has always taught through scripture and tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness.
Live the Word: Thomas put his finger in our Lord's wounded hands. When we put our problems in God's hands, he puts his peace into our hearts.
