DAN EDWARDS The OPW are honoured to host an exhibition displaying the unique artistic work of local craftsman Dan Edwards. The exhibition concludes Sunday, 27th August 11a.m.-4:30p.m. Free entry to Clonmacnois Monastic site on Sunday, 27th August to celebrate Heritage Week.

 SEPTEMBER 3RD DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK  led by Bishop Francis Duffy. Ceremonies begin at 2:30p.m. with the anointing of the sick, and mass will be celebrated at 3p.m. We encourage as many of you as possible to join with us as we gather as a Diocese on this special Day of Pilgrimage. 
A BUS will travel from the parish as usual.  The day trip will include a breakfast and an evening meal.  Provisional Price €32 (to be confirmed and dependent on numbers). SEPTEMBER 10th PATTERN DAY  will be celebrated Sunday 10th Sept with the traditional pattern, beginning 2:45p.m.  followed by concelebrated mass at 3pm
We will officially launch our diocesan program in preparation for the World Meeting of Families 2018 that will take place in Dublin August 2018
We are encouraging families to make a special effort to attend this year’s Pattern.  Preacher Fr. Pat Murphy.
SHANNONBRIDGE GAA –DUCK DERBY, Sunday 27th August at Marina 4p.m. €3 per duck or 2 for €5. Refreshments in Playground afterwards.

CHILDRENS LITURGY SHEET Some copies of a child-friendly activity sheet  (word mazes, colour-in) based on the Gospel of the Day are available. Feel free to take or use one if you’re at Mass with little people or want to occupy them afterwards! 
NEW APPOINTMENTS September 1st sees priests in our diocese moving & taking up new appointments. Locally Fr. James MacKiernan will be moving form Boher, where he has been since 2005 to his new appointment as Adm., Longford Parish. We thank him for his warmth, energy and pastoral care in our Cluster. We welcome Fr. P.J. Hughes who will take up appointment in Boher. 
HIGH ST./BELMONT WOMEN’S GROUP  Day visit to Lough Derg on Saturday, 16th September, if interested please give your name to one of the committee members.
SHANNONBRIDGE GAA Well done to all the shannonbridge players on the ferbane panel who won U14B county semi-final in Cloghan Aug 23rd Adam O'Carroll, Cian Duffy, Conor Brazil, Sean flannery, Jamie Probin, Matthew Darcy and Sean Quirke.

exhibition displayi ng the unique artistic work of local craftsman Dan Edwards. Born in Clonfanlough
 in 1925, a blacksmith and son of a blacksmith, his intense spiritual connection with his local Landscape  is the inspiration for this exhibition, which brings together, for the first time, examples of his life's work.  The exhibition will take place in Temple Connor Clonmacnoise, from Wednesday 23rd – Sunday 27th August, 11:00-16:30 each day.  Free entry to Clonmacnoise monastic site on Sunday 27th to celebrate heritage week. See heritageweek.ie for full list of events nationally. 
If locals wish to see the exhibition, the display will also be on Thursday evening August 24th from
 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.
