Reflection:  For those who walked with us -this is a prayer.  For those who have gone ahead- this is a blessing. For those who touched and tended us, who lingered with us while they lived -this is a thanksgiving.  For those who journey still with us in the shadows of awareness, in the crevices of memory, in the landscape of our dreams this is a benediction.

 NICKY’S BUTCHER SHOP CLOSES  One of Shannonbridge’s best known & iconic businesses closed this weekend. Over the years Nicky worked hard & catered for the needs of so many families over the years. The decision to close is not made lightly & part of a worrying trend affecting traditional victualler families.  I’m sure everyone join in wishing Nicky the very best in his future and to thank him for unstinting service over the years to our community. Nicky would like to thank customers  who have been with the family and shop over generations. 

THIS WEEK IN DATES

TUES 14th CHARITY CONCERT Will take place on Tues 14th Nov in Ballycumber Community Centre at 8p.m. Artists include Simon Casey, Stephen Rosney, Joe Flynn, John Molloy, John Hogan and T.R. Dallas and more… Tickets €10 each. Children are free. A raffle will also be held. All proceeds go towards helping a school in Ecuador. Come alon & support poor children who need your help.

TUES 14TH -RURAL ISOLATION INITIATIVE Groups in the Shannonbridge/Clonfanlough area are invited to a  meeting at 8p.m. in the Health Centre to look at how the community is supporting older people & addressing rural isolation. Facilitator Declan Costello

THURS 16th BAPTISM MEETING Meeting for parents in our pastoral area who have a child for baptism will be held in the Parochial Hose in Ballinahown on Thurs 16th  Nov from 8-9p.m. Parents are asked to contact their local priest about these meetings.

THURS 16th BORD NA MONA PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION  Mass will be offered for dec’d colleagues in the Church of the Assumption Tullamore on Thur 16th Nov 2017 at 12noon

FRI 17th CLONMACNOIS PRAYER VIGIL  in Cluain Chiarain Prayer Centre on Frida​y​ 17th of November and every third Friday. Mass at 9pm. Adoration and Prayers follow until 2.10am. All Welcome. Enquiries Dave; 085-7746763.

SUN 19th ROAD SAFETY AUTHORITY  on Sunday 19^th November are remembering all those who lost their lives as a result of road traffic accidents. Prayers will be offered up at masses on this day.

CONGRATULATIONS to Saul O’Carroll on his selection on the u18 Ireland Rugby Team & represented our village with great pride in Portugal last weekend, scoring a try in Ireland’s win
