Consultative Workshops
Mid-Shannon Athlone
Radisson Blu, Northgate St. Athlone
Wednesday 23rd January 2019
10.00am – 1.00pm
The Masterplan is addressing the Shannon Navigation from Limerick City to Lough Allen, including Lough Key, Co Roscommon the Shannon-Erne Waterway to Belturbet in Co. Cavan. It encompasses a 10km wide corridor traversing 10 counties (see map attached), and will form a central component of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands experience offering.
These workshops will help us to identify compelling tourism experiences, based on emerging themes from consultations to date, to underpin the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands ‘Active in Nature’ tourism proposition for the River Shannon. For this we need key people who know, love, understand, and live or work along the River Shannon corridor, who can contribute to developing ideas for new and exciting tourism initiatives along the entire river.
