We are very grateful to sacristans, choir, servers, altar societies, offertory gift bearers, collectors, readers, Eucharistic Ministers, all who had feet washed, all who worked with our children, all who helped lead and organise the Stations and other prayer services.  EASTER SUNDAY The remarkable victory of Tiger Woods in the Masters Tournament at Augusta last Sunday has caught the imagination of sporting and nonsporting people the world over. The achievement transcends sport. It’s a story of redemption, an Easter parable, a powerful reminder to all that the human spirit has the capacity to soar from the lowest depths to greatest heights. The Creator has planted within us the seeds of greatness. Consequently, the light will always conquer the darkness, and those who stumble on the pathway of life can rise again and make their way home. We may be flawed, but we are also ‘graced’, and nobody should ever be written-off as a lost cause. This joyful news we proclaim on Easter Day because the stone has been removed, the tomb is empty, hope dawns anew, our God reigns. The grave will never be our permanent address, but rather the halfway house on the journey home. We are no mere mortals. An iconic golfing moment unveiled for us the Easter truth. Alleluia!
  Dear parents/guardians,
We are holding a public consultation meeting in Clonmacnois School on Monday 29th April at 8pm. This meeting will be attended by T.D.’s Barry Cowen and Marcella Corcoran and a number of other public representatives. The purpose of this meeting is to highlight the fact that our school would greatly benefit from a fourth teacher and that our student numbers currently do not allow for the school to apply for one. We would like to ask these public representatives to help us to put a case to the Department of Education regarding student/teacher ratio etc. It is imperative that all parents attend this meeting and show a strong, united front on behalf of the welfare of our children.   DIOCESAN DISPLAY DAY - You can sponsor a sacred vessel which will go to the Missions with your intentions. A list and contact numbers in Ferbane Church porch. OPEN DAY AT  MEN’S SHED BELMONT
The members of Belmont Men’s Shed, in conjunction with their patrons, Tom & Sandy, would like to invite the community to visit their workshop at the Old Mill, Belmont. This community event is part of a national campaign called The Big Hello. It is about communities exchanging greetings, sharing a coffee or tea and catching up with each other. The event will take place on May 6th from 2 to 4p.m . In addition to visiting the Men’s Shed, there will also be an opportunity to visit the bottom floor the old mill. Refreshments will be available in the canteen  of the Craft Centre free of charge. The event is sponsored by Offaly Local Development Committee
