The photo was given to us by John Hardiman, Moore and London and it is of the opinion that it is a photograph of Mrs. Jack Mulvey, Collumper, who once lived in the house across the Shannon from Clonmacnois, and in later life went to live with her husband Jack in their son's house Ciaran, in Castlerea. The Mulveys made much use of the boat as a means of transport and rowing down four miles to Shannonbridge was a snip. Every once in a while they would row the eight miles to Athlone. Timber boats leak and it was a regular occurence for Mrs Mulvey to stop every few hundred yards on a journey to bail out the water. Age of photograph ?Say about 70 years.
