John Mc Manus Clonburren as promised has forwarded some verses on The Cuckoo and The Corncrake.
The Cuckoo
1)
In April first she comes
In May she sings all day
In June she changes her tune
In July she prepares to fly
In August go she must
2)
The Cuckoo is a fine bird
She sings as she flys
She brings us good tidings
She sucks small birds eggs to make her voice clear and when she cries Cuckoo the Summer is near.
The Corncrake
The Bee
The Bat
The Butterfly
The Cuckoo and the Swallow
The Corncrake put up his beak and bid them all good morrow.
