 Celtic Spirituality . . . . . . ( Esther de Waal, WEAVINGS, II, # 3)
"Celtic spirituality was a practice in which ordinary people in their daily lives took the tasks that lay to hand but treated them sacramentally, as pointing to a greater reality which lay beyond them. It is an approach to life which we have been in danger of losing, this sense of allowing the extraordinary to break in on the ordinary. Perhaps it is something which we can rediscover, something which Celtic spirituality can give to us if we would let it renew our vision by teaching our eyes to see again, our ears to hear, our hands to handle."

Something to Ponder                                                (Martin Luther King Jnr)
“Everybody can serve.  You don’t need a college degree to serve.  You don’t need to know about Plato or Aristotle to serve.  You don’t need to know about Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, and you can be that servant, that exalted position in the kingdom of God.”

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK                                                                                        (Fr O’Flynn –Intercom)                                                                                        Q. Would St Patrick have any special message if he were here in Ireland today? A. He would be happy to see so many people striving to live Christian lives yet sad to see the drift towards violent crime, the materialism which dims the eye of conscience, the abuse of drugs and alcohol and the weakening of faith as a source of light and strength in life. During this Year of Faith he would encourage each one to be a missionary just as he was, dedicated to God in mind and action, working to bring the beautiful Christian message and ideals to all people.

Reflection for Mother's Day - from Brazil
She walks along the edge of the river with a bundle on her head.
All day she washes clothes to earn only a pittance.
She catches cold and doesn't complain.
She makes the child's milk,
She sweeps the house and cleans the table,
And clears out the shelves when he is asleep.
She is the woman of the house with no time to rest.
She makes the lunch, she makes the supper,
And some time later at night she still hasn't lain down to rest.
