The Lord sent his disciples out in pairs.  In pairs the element of mutual support is a significant factor.  It gives confidence and encouragement.  At the same time, in pairs each member is important.  His/her contribution is noted.  His/her absence is missed.  You are the disciples, the missionaries, of today.  Your contribution is important and is noticed and noted.

Mass for the Intentions of the People of the Parish, Missa pro Populo, in Shannonbridge on Saturday 2nd at 8.00 p.m.

Mass is celebrated at Cluain Ciaráin Prayer Centre, on Wednesday evenings at 7.30.

Mass in the context of the Year of Mercy, and with healing as the theme, will be celebrated in “The Ark Of Divine Mercy”, 23 Mitchell Terrace, Athlone, on Friday 8th, at 7.30 p.m.  Celebrant, Fr. Freddie Warner.  All are welcome.  Further Details from Kathleen O Connor or Paul Woods, 087 782 8283.

The Revised Mass Schedule in the Pastoral Cluster Area comes into effect this weekend, Saturday/Sunday, 2nd/3rd July. 
In the Parish of Clonmacnois:-
   Shannonbridge, Saturday (Vigil), 8.00 p.m.;
   Clonfanlough, Sunday, 10.30 a.m. 
   (12.00 noon Mass discontinued).  
Mass in neighbouring churches:-
   St. Mary’s Clonfad, Sunday, 10.00 a.m.; 
   Sts. Patrick and Saran, High Street,
      Sunday, 12.00 noon.; 
   St. Mary’s, Ferbane, Sunday, 7.00 p.m.  
The proposal that the arrangement alternate between Shannonbridge and Clonfanoough, on a six-monthly basis, has been discussed at cluster level.  It will not affect the operation of the timetable in adjoining parishes.

Sunday 3rd is the Feast of St. Thomas, Apostle, said to have preached the Gospel in India where he suffered martyrdom.
Monday 4th, St. Elizabeth of Portugal, 1271-1336, unhappily married to the King of Portugal, she persevered in prayer and good works.  When her husband died she chose a life of poverty.  She is invoked in time of war.
Tuesday 5th, St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria, 1502-1539, a medical doctor before becoming a priest in Milan.
Wednesday 6th, St. Maria Goretti, 1890-1902, Italy, stabbed to death at the age of twelve, while defending her virtue.
Wednesday 6th, St. Monnine of Killeavy, one of Ireland’s earliest women saints, founded a community at Sliabh Gullion, Co. Armagh, died 517 or 518.
Thursday 7th, St. Mælruain, founded a monastery at Tallaght, Co. Dublin, died 792.
Friday 8th, St. Killian, born at Mullagh, Co. Cavan, martyred in Bavaria with two companions in 688.
Saturday 9th, the Chinese Martyrs. St. Augustine Zhao Rong, a convert to Christianity later ordained to the priesthood.  He was martyred in 1815.  This feast celebrates him and 119 others martyred in China over several centuries.
