 ALTAR SERVERS REQUIRED: Would you consider encouraging your child to serve Mass here? Once they have made their First Holy Communion, they are eligible to serve. We would really love to have a few new boys and girls for our team. It is a very gentle way of passing on the faith to your children and, more to the point, they all really enjoy the experience. We usually team up new with experienced servers and then we’re  ‘good to go’. Forms will be left into Clonmacnois N.S. this week.

LIGHT UP A LIFE—Christmas Lights Appeal at Christmas. Shannonbridge Action Group invite you to sponsor a light for Xmas (€5),to remember a loved oneYou can do so at all local businesses.

FRIDAY OCT 6th ST. CIARAN’S YOUTH CLUB RETURNS in Clonfanlough hall.   This is a community led youth club for 8years up to 6^th class.  Children from surrounding schools are all welcome.    Membership numbers are capped at 40 children for health and safety reasons. Schedule of events will be distributed after registration night.   While some nights are held in the hall, there are occasions when the club meets elsewhere.    Club members organise their own travel arrangements. Registration fee is €10 per child and €15 for a family of 2 (or more).  The club meet in the hall from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, and the weekly fee is €3.  All parents are expected to take their turn for a scheduled night in the hall, this is of great importance.   If insufficient numbers of parents / leaders are available the club wouldn’t be able to run.  On registration night, parents are asked to stay on for a short while, as the club rules will be explained.    

FRIDAY 13TH OCTOBER AT 9P.M. Table Quiz in Killeens in aid of “The Shine a light for Christmas” campaign  by Shannonbridge Action Group & Tidy Towns. Tables €20 for 4 or €5 per person

SUNDAY 15th OCT YOUTH HARVEST PRAISE—St. Mary’s Church of Ireland , Athlone, from 2:30p.m.

BEST WISHES to our u16 Shannonbridge Club members playing this Sunday (1st) at 11:30a.m. in Tubber for Ferbane/Belmont in the u16 A County Final Vs Tullamore. Bryan Rohan, Bill Egan, Aaron Brazil, Ciaran Mannion, Darragh O'Shea and Adam Nugent..not forgetting Tony Rohan as selector!Good luck guys  

Sunday 1^st October Day For Life. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition.

The gift of a new child, entrusted by the Lord to a father and a mother, begins with acceptance, continues with lifelong protection and has as its final goal the joy of eternal life.  By serenely contemplating the ultimate fulfilment of each human person, parents will be even more aware of the precious gift entrusted to them.  For God allows parents to choose the name by which he himself will call their child for all eternity (Pope Francis. Amoris Laetitia, 166)

Prayer to Mary , Mother of the Life Within. O Mary, Mother of the Life Within, All life we entrust to you; The life of every expectant mother and the child within her womb: The life of every human body, The life of every human soul; The life of every newborn child And the life of all grown old.

You held the Lord to your own heart and Drew him so close in. So draw us now in all our needs, O Mother of the Life Within Amen.
