ST. MEL - Co- Patron of our Diocese - Born in the early 5th century tradition has it that he was a nephew of St. Patrick. He bestowed the religious veil on Bridget, was the first bishop of Ardagh where he founed a monastery. He died c.488. His Feast Day is Wed. 7th February.
