I Am The Bread Of Life
I am the bread of life, he who comes to me shall not hunger,
he who believes in me shall not thirst. No one can come to me unless the Father draw him And I will ra-ise him up (x2 ) And I will ra-ise him up on the last day.
The bread that I will give
Is my flesh for the life of the world And he who eats of this bread, He shall live forever He shall live forever.

 Saturday Evening Mass Shannonbridge
Since January 19th last we have experimented with an earlier 6:30pm Mass time. At the time in consultation with the Parish Pastoral Council it was said to be for a trial basis of 6 months. We are grateful for the very varied feedback from parishioners about this, with some finding the 6:30pm good or too early, while others find the original 8pm suitable or too late.
We feel it would be best to review this after the summer in a full manner with all Parishioners. We welcome and appreciate your views on this.
FEAST OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
‘Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the Living Heart of each of our parishes’ (Pope St. Paul VI). This is a wonder-filled feast charged with warm memories of colourful processions through streets festooned with papal flags, tricolours, and all manner of bunting, and lined with little altars, laden with holy pictures, statues and candles in salute to the Sacrament Most Holy. Let us remember with gratitude on this day all those who have preserved this treasure for us through days of persecution and days of prosperity. They have left us a monument more lasting than bronze. Pope Benedict made this appeal to parents on this feast a few years ago: ‘Please go with your children to Church. This is not time lost. Sunday becomes more beautiful, the whole week becomes more beautiful when you go to Sunday Mass together. ‘The moment we separate our lives from the Eucharist something breaks’. (Mother Teresa).
DOON / SHANNONBRIDGE GAA LOTTO - The winning numbers in last
week’s lotto draw were 4, 7, 8, 18. No jackpot
winner. Five match 3 winners. This week’s
jackpot is €6,600 and the draw will be held
in Doon on Monday 24th June.
Feast of the Sacred Heart on Fri June 28th.
Novena Prayer.
Lord Jesus The needs of your people open your heart in love for each of us. You care for us when we are lost Sympathize with us in loneliness And comfort us in mourning You are closest to us where we are weakest You love us most when we love ourselves least You forgive us most when we forgive ourselves least And you call us to spread your love in whatever way we can. Lord Jesus Your heart is moved with compassion when we are suffering When we need your help And when we pray for each other I ask you to listen to my prayer during this Novena And grant what I ask If what I ask is not for my own good and the good of others Grant me what is best That I may build up your kingdom of love in our world. Amen
.

May God's blessing go with us today
End of school year blessing for teachers and children
May God's blessing go with us today,
At the end of this school year we pray.
That you keep us safe and give us rest
So we start again renewed and refreshed.
Full of health, full of fun
Ready to come and learn again.

May God's blessing go with us today,
As we begin our school holiday.
Give your peace and your joy,
To every girl and every boy.
Help the teachers to enjoy the break,
and prepare and plan for the new intake.

May God's blessings await us next year,
To embrace each new challenge without fear.
Fill this school with your love,
and guide our hearts from above.
Full of faith, full of hope,
full of joy, and full of love.
Amen

.
