THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT

The woman at the well

A Jew meets a Samaritan at a well beyond the edge of town, and a barrier is broken down. A Jewish man was not supposed to talk to a Samaritan woman. Jesus takes the initiative. This is God’s way. He searches. We often hide. The encounter occurs in a quiet space, in ordinary every day circumstances. In the quiet space God can ‘catch’ us. If only we would take the chance! In the end of the story, a heart is touched, a life is mended, a thirst is quenched, and the woman discovers that God can make the very worst things that ever happened in your life to work for your very best. The fact that the woman is not given a name means that we can step into the story. Her thirst is the thirst that lies in every human heart and only Christ can quench it. Great things can happen when we come to the well.

Novena to St. Joseph – Saturday 11th March to Monday 20th March. Feast of St. Joseph – spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated on Monday 20th March.

Novena Prayer to St. Joseph Ever glorious St. Joseph, good and faithful servant, God was pleased to place his own family in your care. We thank you for being such a wonderful example of humility and faith, of courage and strength, in your ordinary daily life. Through your intercession, may God grant us the blessing of living continually in his presence, and responding to his love in our daily lives. And when we have lived our days on earth, may God give us the great joy he gave you - that of entering eternal life in the company of Jesus and Mary. Most loving St. Joseph, accept our Novena prayers and obtain for us through your powerful intercession, the favours we ask for in this Novena. Pause to call to mind your special intentions ... St. Joseph, Pray for us. Add: Our father..., Hail Mary..., Glory be to the Father..., Amen

.

St. Patrick’s Prayer: May the Strength of God pilot us. May the Power of God preserve us. May the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us. May the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God defend us. May the Host of God guard us. Against the snares of the evil ones, against temptations of the world. May Christ be with us! May Christ be before us! May Christ be in us, Christ be over all! May Thy Salvation, Lord, Always be ours, this day, O Lord, and evermore. Amen.

FEAST DAYS FOR COMING WEEK

Mar. 17 th Saint Patrick’s Day What distinguishes Patrick, our national patron saint, is the durability of his efforts. When one considers the state of Ireland when he began his mission work and how the seeds he planted continued to grow and flourish, one can only admire the kind of man Patrick must have been. The holiness of a person is known only by the fruits of his or her works

We remember and pray for all emigrants and for all who have Irish roots who live and work in various parts of the world. May St. Patrick bless and protect them.

-Localized roof defects arising from missing/cracked slates/ and inadequate rainwater discharge. To audit  the  roof fixings as it were.

[Found a lovely poem that encourages us to appreciate the life we have]

Sip your Tea, Nice and Slow (by -Lee Tzu Pheng  )

No one ever knows
when it’s Time to Go,
There’ll be no Time
to enjoy the Glow,
So sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

Life is too Short but
feels pretty Long,
There’s too much to do, so much going Wrong,
And Most of the Time You Struggle to be Strong,
Before it’s too Late
and it’s time to Go,
Sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

Some Friends stay,
others Go away,
Loved ones are Cherished but not all will Stay.
Kids will Grow up
and Fly away.
There’s really no Saying how Things will Go,
So sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

In the end, it’s really
all about understanding Love
For this World
and in the Stars above,
Appreciate and Value who truly Cares,
Smile and Breathe and let your Worries go, So Just Sip your Tea Nice and Slow.
