Shannonbridge GAA Notes

Shannonbridge Community Meeting

There will be a Meeting held in Shannonbridge Hall this Saturday at 6pm sharp to discuss the future developments in the Village.

The Shannonside Village has seen a decline in recent years with a lack of housing and Enterprise in the area.

With such a decline in population local organisations such as the GAA has been unable to field any underage teams in recent years. The National School currently only has eight Children and will be reduced to five at the end of term.

There will also be other issues such as lack of street lighting and play areas brought up in the meeting. Further development or total decline is now in the hands of the residents of the Village and Parish.

West Offaly partnership will be liasing with the Community to help build a better future for all in Shannonbridge
