Important Notice on World Heritage Status Bid for Clonmacnois

Following a public meeting in Clonfanlough last September a group was set up to put pressure on the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government (DEHLG) to arrange for a proper consultative process regarding the World Heritage Status Bid for Clonmacnois.
As the group has now secured this consultative process it has disbanded.
However they would like to draw your attention as to how this consultative process is proceeding and to encourage all groups and individuals in the area to engage in the process. Leaflets are available in the church and at the offices of Clonmacnois Visitor Centre.
DEHLG HAVE ANNOUNCED THAT A PUBLIC MEETING WILL BE HELD IN ATHLONE SPRINGS HOTEL ON 29TH JULY 2009 @ 7.30PM – CONFIRMATION WILL BE IN FUTURE PARISH BULLETINS AND LOCAL PAPERS AND WE WOULD ENCOURAGE YOUR ATTENDANCE.
"Your views will help to shape the final plan."
