The Irish Times Wednesday July 29 has a picture of O'Rourke's Tower and the Cross of the Scriptures
at Clonmacnois alongside an article "Locals fear impact of Clonmacnois heritage status.See irishtimes.com
A public information meeting took place last evening at the Athlone Springs Hotel on the Tuam road.
Some 300 people attended the meeting and after some twenty or more questions and statements were raised
the meeting broke up when a speaker representing the farmers said that he had heard enough and was going home.
Most of the meeting stood up and walked out of the meeting.
The one thing that I liked about the meeting was the spelling of Clonmacnois by those making the presentation.
Cluain = gathering of mhic = sons of Nois = Nois without the "e".
Anyhow it is a good photograph to have a look at.
