Shannonbridge's drop to the Intermediate Grade was confirmed last week when Edenderry got the result they wanted against Gracefield, in the last game of the relegation round robin. As Gracefield had already secured their Senior status, there was no incentive for them to perform and they were well beaten.
Shannonbridge will join near neighbours Doon in the grade next season. Doon were unsuccessful in the Intermediate Final, last Saturday, against Walsh Island, on a scoreline of Walsh Island 1-14,- Doon 0-7.
Belmont Senior hurlers, featuring John Ryan and John Egan from Shannonbridge, lost out to Kinnitty in a replay 1-14 to 0-8. Belmont Junior As are also out after going down to St Rynaghs by 1-11 to 0-9.
Yesterday Clara booked their place in the Senior football final against Rhode by defeating Erins Rovers 2-14 to 0-4.
