A review of the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet performance at The Old Fort in
Shannonbridge last Friday night for our web -

When Gregory Ellis introduced the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet at The Old
Fort in Shannonbridge on Friday 5th February,he likened the venue
to the taverns in 18th century Vienna where Mozart's String Quartets
would have been first heard.
The barrelled roof of the dining room provided perfect acoustics
for exquisite Mozart,Shostakovich and Beethoven performed so
beautifully by the Quartet.
The glass of wine, the open-fire and the candlelight added greatly
to the performance on this, the first chamber-music evening in
Shannonbridge.
The organisers are to be congratulated on their choice of venue
and a challenging programme and we look forward to many more
such evenings.
