The Cluster Parishes will have an Hour or Prayer in Ferbane Church this Sun from 5 - 6pm, lead by Fr A. Ryan, in union with the Pope & Catholics worldwide to honour ‘Corpus Christi’ in this ‘Year of the Faith.’

Next Friday is the Feast of the Sacred Heart & the First Fri

There will be Mass in Clonmacnois on that eve @ 7.30pm, which will also cater for members of the PTAA.

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Devotion to the love of Jesus, symbolised by the heart, began with the extraordinary experiences of St. Margaret Mary in Paray-le-Monial in France.  Since then it has spread all over the world, and many people observe the first Friday of every month as a day specially set aside for this devotion.  Today’s liturgy celebrates the great love of Jesus the good Shepherd who gives his life for his own

 Questions people ask                                                   (Fr O’Flynn-Intercom)

Q:  What grounds have we for believing that the consecrated bread is the body of Christ?

A: Our belief is based on the words of Jesus and the belief of his first followers.   If the physical human body of Jesus had been subjected to modern DNA testing, the result would show that he was human but would fail to detect his divine nature.  Similarly, analysis of the sacred Eucharist would reveal the physical components of bread.  Yet Jesus, at the last supper took bread and said unequivocally, “this is my body, which is for you”.  Belief in his Eucharistic presence is not based on science but on accepting the word of the lord!

A large attendance is essential for the success of the Vigil.”  A bus will leave Banagher Church @ 11.30 am, Cloghan @ 11.45 am, and Ferbane @ 12 noon.  To book a seat contact Fr Pepper on 087-6960542, or Fr Cox on 086-8319500.  All support appreciated.
