Yesterday after Mass Patrick William Ryan had his baptismal ceremony. Patrick William is son of John and Sinead Ryan from Woodbank and another grandchild for Sean and Ann Ryan.. Wishing him well in his new life.

Offaly footballers were beaten by one point in their O’Byrne Cup game with Laois.

Both Leinster and Munster suffered defeats in Heineken Cup rugby matches. In their final game at Thomond Park an undefeated at home Munster lost to Leicester 13 – 6.

Gloucester defeated Leinster by 19 – 13.

In English soccer the title race remains alive after Manchester United were beaten by Arsenal. 2 – 1. Liverpool beat Chelsea 2 – 0
