GAA News from Jason Mahon

Senior Championship v Rhode.

On Sunday evening next, the 22nd, Shannonbridge will travel to Tullamore to take on Senior kingpins & championship favourites Rhode.

It is a game that Rhode will be huge favourites to emerge victorious. On paper they have a very strong team, boasting numerous county players. However, in recent weeks the Bridge have put in some very decent performances in the league, indeed we have claimed a few major scalps, including Sunday's opponents Rhode. Clara, Ferbane, Shamrocks & Tullamore have all been overturned in the past month and in a game which they really have nothing to lose, Shannonbridge, will be quietly confident of causing a major upset.

After a hugely disappointing first championship outing against Gracefield losing by ten points, The Bridge need to win this match & then the final group game against Erin Rovers in order to progress past the group stages.

Junior A Championship v Gracefield

On Tuesday evening next, the 24th @ 7.30 pm, Shannonbridge will host Gracefield in what is a very important game in the group. After an impressive last-gasp win against Rhode last Sunday week, the Bridge will hope to overturn a very heavy league defeat a couple of months back.

Here's wishing both teams the best of luck for the coming week, and hoping to see plenty of support in the stands for both matches.
