Shannonbridge Fishing Report..Dated 3rd July 2007.

River level is 3.8 Metres at the village bridge, which is surprising

considering it was 2.3 Metres two weeks ago. Seems that the hot water from

the power plant may not be running until the end of August due to repairwork.

-Chris Ford from Bristol had good fun with a whip on the Hot Water stretch

on 27th June catching roach and hybrids. Good fishing he says.

-Richard Reeves fished on the River Suck for his last two days. On 26th June

he caught 12 lbs of roach and hybrids up to a pound in overcast and windy

conditions. Next day was windy and he caught 28 lbs of roach and hybrids

up to 1.25 lbs using maggot caster and feeder. Good end to his stay.

- Mr Schlosser caught two pike to 4.5 kilos and a large perch while fishing from his

cruiser on 29th June using a blinker lure.

- Daniel Hodgson from Halifax and friends fished the Shannon using

three maggots and sweetcorn to catch decent roach and hybrid. Wise men, as

they brought along their own boat to get to their chosen swims.

- Karl Greenwood from Yorkshire fished the Shannon on 2nd July in mixed weather

and used sweetcorn and a feeder to catch 40 lbs of hybrids up to 3 lbs.

Karl found too many pike in the swim. He had to use light weight leader line.

- Geoff Ridge from Yorkshire fished alongside and caught 20 lbs hybrids

on the feeder. He found too many boats parked in the swim.

- Paul Clegg from Doncaster was also in the party and he used feeder and

corn to catch 22 lbs of hybrids. Weeds were a problem for Paul.

- Charlie Canthorne from Doncaster also fished alongside and used

feeder and corn to catch 31.5 lbs of hybrids
