Shannonbridge Fishing Report dated 20th July 2010
River level had been around the two metre mark recently.
Some heavy rain showers have brought level up to 2.3metres.
>Barry Crawford fished a backwater using three sweetcorn
on a hair rigged 14 hook catching six bream in a two hour
session best 2.5lbs.Too hot for Barry.
>Tom O Brien Athlone used a volvex spinner on Shannon to catch
4 pike and 6 perch.Best pike weighed 12lbs.
>John and Breg Hersee Ayhlone fished Shannonbridge with
bamboo sticks and maggot catching 20 roach 5 perch 1 bream
and i pike.Their advise is Dont buy a rod -make your own.
Stephen Hersee fished with maggot and feeder to catch one
2 lb roach.
>Three generations of Cartys Tom Paddy and Thomas from
Dublin/Shannonbridge fished the Hot Water using worm and float
and a spinner to catch 21 perch and 1 pike Sunshine.
>Joel Stutz Switzerland fished the Shannon using worms
to catch one 60cm pike in the rain.
>Lorraine Devery went fishing for the first time and used
float and maggot to catch 2 bream of 2lbs each.Just reel in.
>Aidan Kelly fished the Shannon using a spinner to catch
7 pike between 2lbs and 6lbs.OK says Aidan.
>Aidan Kelly tried evening fishing with maggot and in two hours
he caught 30 roach and rudd best up to a pound weight.
>Brothers Ev and Theo Everdingen from Holland have just ended
their fishing holiday.Using worms they fished behind an island
on the Shannon to catch 48 perch, 70 perch and roach,
30 perch and 1 pike of 70cm,50 rudd and perch and 90 perch
>Alan Boreham Loughrea fished the canal near Ballymahon using
red maggot and bread to catch 8 tench from 4lbs to 5lbs each.
Lot of soft weed had to be raked out in the swim,
