Shannonbridge and Kilcormac / Killoughy, played out an exciting county final in O’Connor Park, Tullamore, on Saturday with the game ending in a draw - 2-3 to 1-6. In damp conditions, Shannonbridge got off to a flying start with goals from Ronan Hynes and Jack Darcy. With the aid of some excellent saves by Barry Rohan, they managed to maintain a six point gap for the remainder of the first half, with a high work-rate and shot blocking being a feature of their game.
After the break, Kilcormac / Killoughy began to eat into the lead and drew level with a goal eight minutes from time. A point from play, by captain Elle McEvoy, kept Shannonbridge in the game and both sides hit the upright in their quest for a winner.
