Shannonbridge Fishing Report ..dated 19th October 2010
The river level last Thursday was 2.65 metres at Shannonbridge and today the reading was 2.55 metres,Weather has been generally fine and dry with a slight shower last evening.
>Pip Firmin from Scotland used a boat to pike fish on the Shannon with a trolled dead roach as bait in fine weather Pip caught a pike weighing 8.5 lbs.
On 14/10 Pip used the same methods to catch a pike weighing 10.5 lbs again on a fine day.Pip was glad to beat the Missus this year at fishing.
>Mick Walsh from Durrow County Laois recorded two catches.On 13/10 on a dull fine day he used a mackerel as bait while trolling on the Shannon and caught a pike weighing 20 lbs 5 ounces which was returned alive after been weighed on his certified weighing scales.This was just over the Specimen Weight for pike at 20 lbs.
On 17/10Mick Walsh fished the River Suck from his boat again using mackerel bait to catch a 10 lbs pike.
>Graham from Tadley England is over for a short fishing holiday.On 18/10 he fished at Banagher and caught 25 lbs of roach using caster/maggot.All caught on the stick float.
