Fast follow up to the birds comment yesterday from Lorraine in Pottstown who says the birds are most likely putting forth their song because Spring is not too, too far off. Many birds, even though they form into flocks during the winter, will start to stake out their territories for the nesting season. They do this by singing as a warning to others of their species to "stay away, this place belongs to me". Talked to someone last night who promised to report on bird behavior in their back yard plus regularly.
While visiting Pat on Sunday the lady sharing the ward ,Lily, told us about telling it to the bees. There is a custom in Ireland that when the death of a dear one occurs it is recommended to tell it to the bees. Lily lives in Sandycove and has some land. When her husband died they had bees on their property but then they disappeared. Some friend told her that she should have told the bees about the death.
