Joe Vaughan was laid to rest yesterday morning and his ten children were present. After the funeral a friend took about twenty family members for a trip on the Shannon from Banagher to Shannonbridge and they stayed in Shannonbridge for a couple of hours remembering different aspects of Joe's life. The one I liked was when Joe's wife and a neighbour were wheeling their babies out in Birr and two men at the corner saw them. One asked the other who were the babies. His pal replied that one was ready made but the other was tailor man.
