Good to see that Joseph Kenny is making plans to build a new house at Cloniff while over in Raghera Beg Aidan Carry has a great clean up job carried out on the site and hedges and road where he is going to build a new house on the site of The O'Brien homestead methinks.
Some snowdrops this year have developed extra long shanks and look more robust than normal. Noticed about twelve daffodils that were gathered raw a few days ago are developing fast and almost ready to bloom.
Water levels have eased back but there is still a flood. Temperature of the Shannon went up almost 3C in a week to 6.8 C. Lots of free weather info under The Irish Times website at www.ireland.com
Expect some bird notes here very soon.
