Bob Galligan was walking with his sheepdog under the bridge at
Shannonbridge one cold morning last week and he noticed a handful
of foot long icicles hanging from the roof over the towpath.
Bob travelled to the village today using his lake boat.He said that
there was water in the drains but the river was back to summer level.
Near the mouth of the River Suck Bob saw six anglers fishing,
presumably for pike.

Shannon Airport now has clearance for private jets according to the
news today.

Tomorrow the 3rd March Joe Turley celebrates his 90th Birthday.
Wishing Joe all the best.

Looking forward to hearing the Rob Cunney Band in Shannonbridge
this coming Saturday night.

Davey Rafter was telling today that he heard two farmers recently
lamenting loosing a number of concrete drinking troughs in the
recent heavy frost. An old man that overheard their conversation
told them that there was no need to let the tanks crack.
All they had to do was to put a tennis ball floating in each tank.
