The Pope's Letter to the people of Ireland is about twenty pages long.
It is available at catholicbishops.ie

The weather people were a bit out for our area as we have had sunshine
for the past three days. The bit of rain that fell mostly at night has
turned the grass in the green area across from the Church into a -
you guessed it - A GREEN AREA.

Eilis took her children to Shannon-harbour yesterday and then to
Ferbane where the kids enjoyed the kids playground.Once you drove to Belmont and onto Ferbane, coming into the town at Hiney's Corner.
For a number of years there is no entry to this road from Ferbane.
Instead you use the by-pass road which takes off from the fire station
and joins the Belmont road near the Church. The Kids Playground has
been built alongside this by-pass. Eilis thought that the use of
timber was a good idea for the various swings etc.

On Saturday night Fergal and Eilis took me to High Street to see the comedy -'Tom,Dick and Harry'. Playing to a packed house for the third night this is a funny and very enjoyable fast moving show.
Cast of nine including Colene Killian, Paddy Egan, Ian Mc Evoy,
Vincent Fennell, Carmel Ferris, Jerry Corcoran, Fergus Claffey,
Sharon Newman, Sean Dolan and is directed by Brendan Ryan.
The fourth showing is on tonight Sunday. They have planned to stage an extra show on next Saturday night 27th March at 8.30pm. Take my advise
and go see it and go a half hour early as tickets are sold on the door and to get parking and a good seat. As well as that the charity chosen is for the Haiti Disaster.

The Fishery Protection Officer was in Shannonbridge on Friday and gave us his mobile phone number to contact him about this illegal fishing with Live Fish as bait. A number of people that rang him including myself were more than disappointed to be connected to an answering machine. I left my name on the machine about seven hours ago without an answer. Again last night a number of people were telling about the amount of fish being caught and presumably taken away by these unwanted
''Anglers'' that have chosen to visit Shannonbridge recently.
Today's Gospel has the story of the woman caught committing adultery and Christ saying 'if there is one of you who has not sinned, let him be the first to throw a stone at her' and how this applies to these 'anglers'?

it's good to see that the people of Shannonbridge are trying to get this illegal fishing stopped, so many visitors come to Ireland to enjoy the fishing and return all fish caught alive, only for a minority to spoil this great resource.
