Some further fishing news.
Two of the local boat owners last Saturday observed ten fishermen ?
on the floating jetty.About half of them were fishing for small fish
such as perch and roach.The others were using these as Live Bait to
catch a number of pike which were stored in keepnets.One pike was
estimated to be in the 14 to 16 lbs scale.
There is a law against the use of live bait, that is a full live fish
with hooks stuck into it and released to swim around.A fish like this
is in distress and pike pick up the distress signal I am told.
The group seemed to have an amount of tackle and were generally
using two rods each. See previous report today.
