Recentt Deaths

Denis OGrady, Ballinahown passed away last week after a long illness. Denis worked for many years as a Supervisor in Shannonbridge Power Station, where he was highly regarded by all. He was laid to rest in Clonmacnoise last Sunday.

News today of the death of Johnny Coughlan, Ballylamon, Belmont - funeral arrangements later. Johnny was well known for his interests in sport including badminton and Belmont GAA, where he was active as player and organiser for many years.
May they rest in peace.

Coffee Morning for Hospice.

Congratulations to Liz Duffy and team who staged a very successful coffee morning in Killeen's last Friday for the Hospice. They raised the brilliant total of € 1,000 for this very worthy cause - well done to all.

Stephen Kelly Memorial Motor Cycle Run.

Many local bikers were among a large number who took part in the annual memorial bike run for Stephen (Ned) Kelly last Saturday, which was a fund-raiser for another very important charity - Aware.
