The annual Pioneer Dance was held in Clonfinlough Hall on last Saturday night with music by the Evergreens. Pioneers are a group of people that decide not to drink and take a pledge not to indulge. They also say a daily prayer for the sake of indulgence. A person attending the dance described the band as the same as last year and those attending the dance were the same faces as one would see at the Pattern. An absence of clergy was noted as this annual function was strongly supported by Father Michael Campbell while he was based in Ferbane.
